Trumpeter Dave Burns knocks 'em dead with Rigor Mortez and Richie's Dream* (both in company that includes veteran trombonist Al Grey, saxophonist Billy Mitchell and vibist Bobby Hutcherson). Alto saxophonist Bunky Green declares Funk Ain't A Word and the fine backing group (guitarist Billy Butler, bassist Wilbur Bascomb et al) concur. Finally, moog maestro Jean Jacques Perrey returns for Cat In The Night and, from his collaboration with Gershon Kingsley, Mas Que Nada*.
